Regular fluid and filter changes are a key component to prolonging the life of your transmission. At the minimum, your transmission fluid should be changed at 80K kilometers and as often as every 30K if towing or hauling.
Some signs of a transmission slip include:
- Vehicle RPM increases faster than normal
- Vehicle is taking too much time to coast before you have to apply the brakes.
- A delay in acceleration.
Any of these problems can indicate that the transmission is not feeding power to the engine correctly.
