Regular fluid and filter changes are essential to prolonging the life of your transmission. At a minimum, your transmission fluid should be changed at 80,000 kilometers and as often as every 30,000 kms if towing or hauling.
Some signs of a transmission slip include:
- Vehicle RPM increases faster than normal
- Vehicle is taking too much time to coast before you have to apply the brakes.
- A delay in acceleration.
Any of these problems can indicate that the transmission is not feeding power to the engine correctly.
