A car that is overheating is a cause for alarm for most drivers and the fear of being stranded and having to pay high towing and repair bills are very real.
The problem could be any one of the following:
- The coolant level is low
- There is a leak in the engine cooling system
- A bad thermostat
- A failing water pump
- Trapped air in the cooling system
- Radiator cooling fan is faulty

Coolant systems should be checked and tested to make sure it is topped up, pressurized and is not contaminating any parts. Preventative maintenance like this can save you a lot of money in the long run.
