Finding a great mechanic is an important part of looking after your car. You want to be certain that you’re taking your vehicle to someone who you can trust and who does top quality work at a reasonable price.
At Boyds Tire & Auto Service, we’d love the chance to be your new auto shop of choice in Kelowna, BC. But no matter where you are, or who you decide to take your vehicle to, we have some tips for finding a great mechanic.
Don’t Wait Until You Need a Mechanic
Don’t put yourself in a difficult situation by waiting until a problem occurs before looking for a mechanic. Get your search started now, so you’ll be able to make a considered decision and pick the best option.
Check Reviews
Use the web to search for reviews on the shops in your area - look at Yelp, Google reviews, Facebook reviews, etc.

Ask Around
Put the question out there to your circle. Who do your family, friends, neighbours, and work colleagues visit? Ask around to see who comes personally recommended to you.
Take The Shop for a Test Drive
Once you’ve identified a shop you like, consider having some small work done, such as an oil change, to determine quality of work, customer service, turnaround time and price. While you’re there ask about the warranties/guarantees that they offer with their work.
Don’t Be Afraid to Ask Questions
Good auto shops know that they have to continually earn your business. They know this on day 1 and day 1,001 of your working relationship, so don’t be afraid to ask your shop how long they’ve been in business, whether they use new or used parts, and what makes them different than the guy down the street, and whether or not their mechanics are certified. Asking questions is totally ok!
At Boyd Tire & Auto Service, we want to earn your business, as well as that of your family and friends. We are certified mechanics located in downtown Kelowna for your convenience and we encourage you to come in and meet us in-person and see our work. If you’d like to schedule an appointment, please contact us. We’d be delighted to serve you!
